Expert Science Tuition in Sutton Coldfield

Welcome to LME Academy, your local First Class Learning franchise partner in Mere Green. Our Science programme supports students from Year 7 through to GCSE, building confidence and secure understanding across Biology, Chemistry and Physics — with dedicated Combined Science support for GCSE exam success.

The First Class Learning Approach To Science

Our ethos is that the student is at the centre of everything we do. We believe a mistake is a learning opportunity, not a problem. Science at LME goes beyond worksheets — we develop the skills of a true scientist:

Our Science Learning Pathway: From Year 7 to GCSE

The FCL Science programme is exclusively designed and produced by First Class Learning and covers all three disciplines — Biology, Chemistry and Physics — plus scientific enquiry skills. Its modular structure gives us huge flexibility: your child can study any combination of the three sciences simultaneously, or focus on one discipline at a time, depending on where they need support.

There are lots teaching centres which offer 11 plus tuition but what FCL offers is really a very personalised tutoring plan delivered in a nurturing environment. My daughter would not have managed to get a great score in her 11 plus exam, had it not been for the dedication and mentoring of Ms Sadaf...

We are absolutely thrilled that our son has just achieved a Grade 9 in his Maths GCSE thanks to the amazing team at FCL! When he started two years ago, his confidence had dropped and his predicted grades were much lower, but FCL has completely exceeded our expectations. Not only has he achieved the top grade...

They are fantastic. The students receive full support, both in terms of the content and teaching provided by the tutors and teachers, as well as the psychological guidance and assistance offered to them. I highly recommend it to any family looking to give their children an additional opportunity and extra support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our Science programme supports students from Year 7 through to GCSE. We follow the structured First Class Learning Key Stage 3 programme, and at GCSE level we provide dedicated Combined Science exam support.
The programme spans all three disciplines: Biology (cells, organisms, ecosystems and genetics), Chemistry (matter, reactions, the periodic table and Earth science) and Physics (forces, energy, electricity, magnetism and waves) — plus scientific enquiry skills such as investigation, observation and analysis.
Both — the programme is flexible, so your child can cover any combination of Biology, Chemistry and Physics simultaneously, or focus on one discipline at a time, depending on where they need support.
It follows the National Curriculum but is tailored to the individual. We begin with a thorough assessment to identify your child's strengths and areas for development, then build a personalised learning plan that develops secure understanding step by step, with regular feedback.
At GCSE level we support Combined Science, which is the course most students sit. We don't currently offer separate (Triple) science tuition, but our Combined Science support covers all the Biology, Chemistry and Physics content in the exam.
Our fees are charged monthly and depend on the programme and the number of subjects your child studies. As a guide, tuition works out at approximately £25–£30 per hour. For an exact quote tailored to your child's needs, please give us a call on 07703 891949 — and remember, your child's initial assessment is completely free.
Our classes at Mere Green Library run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5–7pm, and Sundays from 11am–1pm. Session length depends on your child's needs — for example, GCSE classes run for 2 hours per subject. We'll recommend the right schedule for your child after their free initial assessment.
Every child follows an individualised learning programme, and we keep our ratios small — a maximum of 3 students per learning coach. This means your child gets close personal attention and support in every session, while still benefiting from a focused group learning environment.
All our tuition is in person at our Mere Green centre, using a pen-and-paper methodology. Because 11+, SATs and GCSE exams are all paper-based, we believe children must practise the way they'll be examined. We do use online materials to build certain skills, but always as a supplement to written work — never a replacement.
Our centre at Mere Green Library welcomes families from across Sutton Coldfield and the surrounding areas, including Mere Green, Four Oaks, Streetly, Wylde Green, Boldmere, Walmley, Lichfield and Tamworth.
